PURPOSE:To prevent fuel explosion during its transport process and to reduce cost in crushing fuel in blast furnace operation by a method wherein a solid fuel blowing through tuyeres is used in the state of specific coarse grains. CONSTITUTION:A solid fuel blowing through the tuyeres of a blast furnace is given a grain size of not fine powder but of coarse particle size which is free from the danger of explosion. This eliminates the need for an explosion preventive facility during its transport and cost to crush fuel into fine powder.
