Abstract
PURPOSE:To finely adjust an axis aligning position by utilizing a transformation of the electrostrictive element. CONSTITUTION:An opening part 3 of the cavity 4 which is connected to the vacuum device is provided on the angle where a vertical contact branch part 2a of the L-form optical fiber supporting table 1, and a horizontal contact branch part 2b are crossing, so that the optical fiber F to be coupled is attracted and kept contacting. Electrostrictive elements 8a, 8b are fixed to 5a and 5b as a cantilever system, respectively, as fine adjustment elements of the fiber axis. Since 8a and 8b are curved to the left and in the upper direction, respectively, by applying the voltage, it is possible to adjust an axis aligning position by finely moving a coupling end of the optical fiber F.
