Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the starting efficiency of an internal combustion engine by setting a constant frequency of fuel-supply timing on the basis of states of a starting switch and the suction air flow and operating an injector synchronously with the frequency. CONSTITUTION:A Karman vortex generator 1 and a vortex detecting device 2 to issue a detection signal of a frequency corresponding to the vortex frequency generated by this vortex generator 1 are provided on the air-suction passage of an internal combustion engine. A detection signal from this device 2, a signal from a starting switch 5, and a signal from a cooling-water temperature sensor 34 are added to a control unit 6 for generating a control pulse to drive a fuel injection valve 31. When the frequency of the detection signal from the vortex detecting device 2 is less than a fixed value, this pulse is changed into a previously fixed frequency. This construction permits to stabilize the supply of fuel at starting and improve the starting efficiency.
