Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure the optimum normalization of picture signals, by securing a simultaneous detection via a sensor for both the volume of light emission of an exposure lamp and the volume of reflected light given from an original and then ensuring an automatic level setting for the output signal of a solid state pickup element by the output of the said detection. CONSTITUTION:A light volume detecting sensor S1 (or S2) is provided at the exposure lamp part comprising a pair of fluorescent lamps 1 and 2 plus a reflecting plate 3 to ensure a simultaneous detection for both the light emitted from each fluorescent lamp and the reflected light given from the original 5 on the glass 4. The detection output of the sensor S1 is applied to the differential amplifier 9 to be compared with the reference voltage Vref. Thus the fluctuation of light volume of the lamps 1 and 2 plus the variation component of the ground level of the original 5 are detected. The variation component of detection is applied to the voltage control amplifier 8 in the form of an output of deviation to give a gain control to the amplifier 8. In such way, the level is normalized for the output picture signal of the CCD pickup element 7.
