Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the actual overload detection in the range of whole frequency and secure the protection by a method wherein the frequency element of a power converter is inputted to the overload detecting circuit, and the detecting point of overload is made variable in accordance with the frequency. CONSTITUTION:A current from a static power converter feeding vairable frequency AC power is inputted to an operational amplifier IC1 via a current transformer CT, a rectifier RF. In accordance with an allowable overload characteristic of the power converter, the detecting time is made longer when overload is small and shorter when overload is large, and a transistor TRS1 is made to operate to obtain a detecting signal. At this case, the frequency signal SP of the power converter is inputted to an operational amplifier IC2, and when the signal SP becomes samller than the lowest frequency signal being set by a variable resistor 4RH, output of the amplifier IC2 is made negative to bring down an operating point being set by a variable resistor 1RH through a diode D2, and a resistor R9. Accordingly overload can be surely detected in the range of whole frequency enabling the protection.
