Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the fitting and detaching of the filter and make the filter rigid and needless of maintenance by fitting the filter to a port frame airtightly through the wedge effect of the co-operative combination of a leaf spring and the weight of the filter itself. CONSTITUTION:A groove 8 with its part inclined at an appropriated angle against the lower part of the filter 1 is provided at the lower part of the port frame 2 of a vehicle body in which to place the filter 1, and the leaf spring 7 is slantedly fitted to the upper part of the frame 2. When fitting the filter 1, the filter 1 is inserted first into the upper part of the frame 2 as indicated by the two-dotted lines and is then dropped into the groove 8. Accordingly, the upper part of the filter 1 is pressed against a packing 5 by the spring 7, while the lower part thereof is pressed against the packing 5 by the wedge effect arising from the contact with the groove 8, securing airtightness. When detaching the filter 1, the filter 1 is lifted upwards and the procedure reverse to the fitting procedure is taken.
