Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase working efficiency by detecting which sides of ribbon is aligned to printing position using identification hole on one side of cassette in ink ribbon devicd where the ink ribbon has double tracks.
CONSTITUTION: When an ink ribbon cassette 16 is set on the carriage 7 as it's upper part is in printing condition, a ribbon truck detector 24 on the carriage 7 is geared with the identification hole 16a on one side of the cassette 16. Then the detecting signal becomes ON. The accordance with the signal of ribbon detecting devices 26, 27, the ribbon 12 is reeled in and printing to paper 13 by the head 10 is performed. And, when leader tape, the end of ink ribbon 12, is detected by ribbon detecting device 26, carriage 7 is stopped. At the same time, indicating lamp is turned on which indicates the change of trucks. Turning cassette 16 inside out, there is no identification hole 16a on this side. Detecting knob 25 is pushed down and the second truck is identified as in the printing condition.
