Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the pressure fixability of a microencapsulated toner and the offset preventing properties to a press roll by forming the core substance with an aqueous soln. of a hydrophilic high molecular substance and a hydrophobic pressure fixing substance. CONSTITUTION:A pressure fixing substance such as wax compound or ethyleneacrylic or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer is mixed with an aqueous soln. of polyvinyl alcohol or methyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer to obtain a core material fluid. A soln. of styrene-maleic anhydride ester resin or styrene-butyl methacrylate copolymer in methylene chloride or toluene is separately prepared as a wall material. The core material fluid is emulsified in this soln. together with an emulsifier to form a W/O emulsion. This emulsion is then emulsified in an aqueous soln. of gelatin to convert the W/O type into W/O/W type, and by adding n-hexane, capsules are formed. Magnetic powder may be added to the core material.
