Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain the function of a gas cleaner at a given level even when the amount of gas for cleaning is largely changed and also permit the simple operation of the cleaner even when solid particles are present in a cleaning liquid by providing paired inclinded plates whose opening area can be adjusted and then providing a cleaning liquid outlet at the upper part of the inclined plates.
CONSTITUTION: A cleaning liquid enters through a liquid inlet path 3 into a liquid trap 12 at the lower part, is sent to a circulating liquid supply pipe 15 by a circulating pump 13, flows out of circulating liquid outlets 9 and 10, collides with the inner wall of diffusers 11 and 12, flows down from inclinded plates 5 and 6, enters the liquid trap 16, and then is circulated into the tower again. And, the cleaning liquid flows into the gas inlet path 2 when dropping from the ends of the inclined plates 5 and 6, collides with a high-speed gas passing through an aperture between the inclined plates 5, 6 and 7, 8 and is finely diffused, thus permitting better contact between the cleaning liquid and gas to be treated. Furthermore, the opening area can be regulated by operating the circulating liquid supply pipe 15 so as to obtain the optinum flow rate of gas.
