Abstract
PURPOSE: To lessen unbalance of a rotary machine and simplify thereby the balancing process by such a construction that vibrations of an impeller are monitored from fixation agent, where no strain gage or leads are necessarily mounted on the rotor.
CONSTITUTION: To the casing 8 of fixation agent, contactless vibration measuring pickups 9aW9c to sense vibrations of impeller 1 are fixed both in the circumferential and radial directions, and a shaft vibration measuring pickup 9d to sense vibrations of the shaft 4 is mounted on the casing 8 at the stationary side. The vibratory condition of the impeller 1 sensed thereby is placed into a recorder 11 through a modulator 10. To this modulator 10, the displacement component of the impeller 1 in standstill position is sent and, by removing this signal from the vibratory condition under rotation, the vibration amplitude of the impeller itself 1 can be determined. Accordingly, this monitoring device does not require anything to be attached to the rotor and a less unbalance and a simplified balancing process are assured.
