Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the quantity of stored oil with simple constitution by providing a common electrostatic capacity type liquid level indicator which pierces a liquid storage tank having two upper and lower chambers. CONSTITUTION:Oil storage tank 1 having the 1st and 2nd oil storage chambers U and D at the upper and lower parts is buried underground. The electrostatic capacity type measuring device which has the 1st electrode P1, 2nd electrode P2 and connection part 20 is installed piercing partition wall 1' between both chambers U and D. The 1st electrode P1 is provided with air hole H1 at the upper end part, oil inflow hole H2 under oil storage chamber U and air hole H3 at the upper position in oil storage chamber D and has an opening at the lower end. Oil from storage chambers U and D intrudes between electrodes P1 and P2 and is divided into two upper and lower parts by oil leakage stopper 22, so that electrostatic capacity proportional to the sum of heights of oil levels is formed between electrodes P1 and P2. Therefore, the total amount of remaining oil can precisely be measured with the simple constitution.
