Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it needless to perform post-processings such as removal of flaw detecting liquid, by mixing fine particles of magnetic material in liquid such as oil and water into colloidal solution and by sealing this flaw detecting material between two thin films one of which is constituted into a transparent bag at least.
CONSTITUTION: Flaw detecting material 2 obtained by mixing magnetic material particles of 50W1,000Å particle size and liquid such as oil and water into colloidal solution is sealed between thin films, one film 2 of which is transparent at least, into a layer. This magnetic flaw detecting sensor is put on a checked face or is caused to adhere onto the checked face and is used while applying the external magnetic field to the checked object. If the checked object has no defects, the collodal flaw detecting material sealed between these films shows no change at all; but if it has defects, collection of the flaw detecting material is found through transparent thin film 2 according to the state, so that defects can be detected. When applying the external magnetic field to the checked object is stopped after flaw detection, the flaw detecting material is restored to the original uniform state. Consequently, post-processings such as removal of flaw detecting liquid can be needless.
