Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a granulated material, by a method wherein a compound for molding material, containing a specified amount of a treated mica, and a specified proportion each, basd on phenol resin, of calcium hydroxide and liquid dispersant which is hard to dissolve the phenol resin, is extruded.
CONSTITUTION: Methanol weak solution of resol resin is sprayed against a flaked mica and passes between two rotation rolls to produce a mica which is pressurized togetherwith resin liquid and is sheared. A compound, for use with phenol resin molding material, containing 50W70wt% of so treated mica and 1W6wt% each, based on the phenol resin, of calcium hydroxide and a liquid dispersant being hard to dissolve the phenol resin, is prepared. The compound is kneaded by means of a pressurizing kneader for 5W20min at about 60W70°C, and is extruded by means of a screw type extruder to obtain a granulated material which is gelled and is sheared naturally.
