Abstract
PURPOSE: To store an energy of sea waves by sending an air into a tank under pressure through operation of a pump by a vertical motion of a floating body.
CONSTITUTION: When a wave C causes a floating body A to make an upward movement against a fixed bench B, a working lever 2 also makes an oscillating upward movement around a fixed shaft 7 to move a piston rod 1a of a pump 1 upward so that an air is drawn into the pump 1 thrugh a check valve 10. When a floating body A moves downward, the piston rod 1a of the pump 1 also moves downward so as to send the air in the pump 1 under pressure into a lower room 3b in a tank 3 through check valves 11, 12. Repetition of the above operation causes an upward movement of a heavy piston 3a in the tank 3 so that the air in an upper room 3c is gradually compressed to store a wave energy.
