Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a size composition suitable for an adhesive size and a dyeing size excellent in drying property, permeability, coatability or the like, by dispersing a hemicellulose powder into an aqeuous size solution.
CONSTITUTION: The objective size composition is obtained by dispersing a hemicellulose powder obtained by extracting a plant fiber with an alkali into an aqueous solution of a size agent such as starch, tragacanth gum, gum arabic, sodium alginate, dextrin, polyvinyl alcohol or the like. When used as the adhesive size, said composition is coated on a contact surface of a material to be adhered and said surface is contacted with other material to be adhered and adhered thereto by drying. Further, when it is used in, for example, printing process as the dyeing size, a dyestuff is added to said size composition to prepare a printing paste and said printing paste is applied to a fiber cloth and, after drying, said cloth is subjected to high temp. heating treatment to carry out printing and, subsequently, washed to carry out desizing.
