Abstract

PURPOSE: A rubber composition for vulcanization with improved green strength and adhesion to a metal, comprising an unvulcanized rubber and a vinyl aromatic compound-conjugated diene compound blockcopolymer modified by a dicarboxylic acid.
CONSTITUTION: The purpose rubber composition is prepared from 100pts.wt. (hereinafter referred to as part) composition consisting of 100pts. unvulcanized rubber (A) (e.g., polybutadiene rubber or styrene-butadiene rubber) and 1W200pts. modified block copolymer (B) prepared by combining a block copolymer consisting of a vinyl aromatic compound and a conjugated diene compound (e.g., a styrene- butadiene block copolymer) with a molecular unit containing a dicarboxylic acid group or the group of a derivative thereof (e.g., maleic anhydride group), 0.01W 10pts. vulcanizer (C), and if necessary 1W200pts. filler (e.g., carbon black), 1W 200pts. softener (e.g., a naphthenic processing oil), etc.
