Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a powdered synthetic polymer of stable quality having uniform polymerization degree, by supplying a powdered synthetic polymer dried and crushed by means of a pretreater consisting of a predryer and a crusher, into a vacuum heating vessel.
CONSTITUTION: After a powdered synthetic polymer is supplied through feed inlet 10 to predryer 1 and preliminarily crystallized by a hot air blown through blowing hole 5 at the bottom of hollow hole 4 of rotary shaft 3 having agitation blade 2, it is supplied through connection conduit 20 to a rotary basket 14 of crusher 12, in which high-speed rotary rod 13 is cylindrically arranged doubly, and being crushed and dried by being passed between the rod 13 and stationary rod 15 placed between the rods 13, it is dropped to intermediate hopper 22 through conduit 26 equipped with vacuum valve 24. Then the polymer is supplied through feed hopper 23 constantly maintained under vacuum and fixed-quantity feeder 31 to vacuum heating vessel 32 equipped with screw blade 33, where it is polymerized in solid phase.
