Abstract

PURPOSE: To make multiple-kind small-volume production of large-sized forgings inexpensively and easily by changing the position of a die with respect to a main punch and subpunches.
CONSTITUTION: The material S to be worked is put into a die 6 and subpunch 4 are lowered. When a bolster 5 is moved upward, the material S to be worked is pushed by a main punch 3 and forms a recess 57. After the recess 57 of a required depth is formed, the lower bolster 5 is lowered to the original position and the die 6 is rotated and moved. When it arrives at the position where one subpunch 4 opposes to the recess 57, the die 6 is stopped and the lower bolster 5 is moved upward, thence the subpunch 4 opposing to the recess 57 is lowered and is inserted the rein. The top surface of the material S is retained by the other subpunch 4. Further the lower bolster 5 is moved upward, so that a recess 58 is formed with the main punch 3.
