Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce the memory capacity by generating a sine function by use of the ROM whose phase range for storing the sine function has been made to 1/4 of one period. CONSTITUTION:When the input of l bits of the phase (x) (-pi<=x<pi) is input to the circuit of operation I, the phase is moved in parallel, it becomes -pi/2<=y< pi/2, and becomes 1/2 of the area of (x). Subsequently, when this phase is input to the circuit of operation II and is inverted partially, it becomes 0<=z<=pi/2, and becomes 1/2 of the area of (y). A since function can be obtained by reading it out from the ROM11 storing the sine function within the range which is ''0'' or more and smaller than pi/2, by use of said phase. When it is inverted again by the circuit of operation III, a desired sine function can be obtained. In this way, the memory capacity of the ROM11 can be reduced to 1/4.
