Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a hot melt type adhesive composition by adding a tackifier to an unsaturated carboxylic acid-grafted product of ethylene-alpha-olefine copolymer rubber.
CONSTITUTION: Approx. 0.01W10wt% unsaturated carboxylic acid (e.g., maleic anhydride) is grafted to ethylene-alpha-olefin copolymer rubber (alpha-olefin is preferably propylene or 1-butene) containing approx. 40W85mol% ethylene to obtain a modified ethylene-alpha-olefine copolymer rubber having a melt index of 0.01W5. Then, 30W70wt% said modified ethylene-alpha-olefine copolymer rubber is mixed with 70W30wt% stickifier (e.g., a petroleum resin, terpene resin) to form a hot melt type adhesive composition.
