Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the checking of both the picture process system and the optical system, by writing various types of video signals under the picture process into the memory area used for the normal character identification and under the same scanning conditions and securing the checking for the written signals. CONSTITUTION:The picture signals such as the marks on a slip are read by the CCD sensor 1 and through a lens to be converted into the electric signals, and quantitized into the 4-bit gradation of concentration through the 4-bit A/D converter 3. Furthermore the black dot under a certain value is converted into a white dot by the dust removing circuit 5. At the same time, the unevenness is removed for the character segment through the smoothing circuit 6, and the outputs of converter 3 plus the circuits 4, 5 and 6 are supplied to the video signal selection circuit 16 along with the output of the A/D converter 7. Then an optional selection is given to the middle of the picture process flow or the result of the picture process, and then the process data is extracted to be stored in the memory 11. This data is then displayed at the display 14, thus simplifying the clecking for the faulty areas of the converters 3 and 7 plus the circuits 4, 5 and 6 each.
