Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve intake efficiency over all engine revolution ranges, output, and fuel cost characteristics by smoothing the intake to the engine main unit over all strokes.
CONSTITUTION: When carburetor K is connected to engine main unit E using connection cylinder S and the intake valve of the engine main unit E is closed, air chamber T which sucks the excessive mixture which is supplied to the connection cylinder S is connected to the connection cylinder S using a branch pipe 2. Since an intake valve is opened and closed in accordance with the piston movement of the engine main unit E, the intake becomes intermittent and the excessive mixture in the connection cylinder S flows in negative pressure air chamber T. Then when the intake valve of the engine is opened and the engine main unit E is set to negative pressure, the mixture in the air chamber T is mixed in the mixture in the connection cylinder S, it is sucked in the engine main unit E. As described above, engine intake can be smoothed when the air chamber T temporarily accommodates excessive backflow mixture.
