Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent an excessive pressure from applying to an outer tube by a method wherein a heat pipe is incorporated in a transparent vacuum outer tube, and the leakout gas can rapidly be discharged to the atmosphere at the time of an increase in the internal pressure of the outer tube.
CONSTITUTION: A heat pipe 4 comprises a heating medium sealed in a closed metal pipe 3 having a radiating portion 1 and a heat collecting portion 2. The heat collecting portion 2 and a heat collecting plate 5 of the heat pipe 4 are inserted into a transparent outer tube 6, the insertion side of the heat pipe is sealed, and the space 8 inside the outer tube 6 is evacuated through a bleeder tube 7 for heat collection, thereby constituting a vacuum tube type heat collector. The heat collector is provided with a glass end plate 10 having a brittle portion 11 having a slit, groove or the like. Accordingly, when the heating medium gas sealed in the heat pipe 4 has leaked out into the space 8 inside of the outer tube 6, it does not break the outer tube 6 but is simply discharged to the outside of the tube 6.
