Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a solid-electrolyte battery which has a small self discharge and a high dependability by using a negative electrode made of lithium, a solid electrolyte made of lithium nitride, and a positive electrode made of a given compound containing a given element. CONSTITUTION:A solid-electrolyte battery includes a negative electrode 8 made of lithium, and a solid electrolyte 7 made of lithium nitride. A positive electrode 6 of the battery is made of a mixture consisting of one or not less than two of a halide, an oxide, a sulfide, a nitride and a chalcogenide of one or not less than two elements of the group I elements (K, Rb, Cs, Cu and Ag), the group II elements (A, Sc, Ga, Y and In), lanthanoids (Te), actinoids, the group IV elements (C, Si, Ti, Ge, Zr, Sn, Hf and Rb), the group V elements (V, As, Nb, Sb, Ta and Bi), the group VI elements (Cr, Se, Mo, Te and W), the group VII elements (Mn) and the group VIII elements (Fe, Co and Ni); for example, a mixture of nickel sulfide with silver iodide is used. As a result, a solid-electrolyte battery which has a small self discharge and a high dependability can be obtained.
