Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the need of supporting mother ship for power supply at an underwater construction site by providing the underwater power base capable of seef-navigating and self-propelling both in the water and on the underwater ground and further capable of providing a power generator workable both in the water and on the surface.
CONSTITUTION: The underwater power base 1 comprises a floatable and submersible tractor 2 with a tranelling device 4 and a pressure-proof double-hull type operator 5 and a floatable and submerisible power generator vehicle 3 which is connected to the tractor 2 in a separatable fashion therefrom and comprises a travelling device 6 and a pressure-proof hull 7 housing a power generator. The power generator vehicle 3 is equipped with an operation controller for the power generator, a carbon deoxide remover, a ventilation means and the like. The power generator used here is a enclosed type cycle diesel engine on the like which can operate both in the water and in the air. In order to operate the engine, a compressed air 22 is used and a fuel tank 23 is provided.
