Abstract

CONSTITUTION: (2-Pyridyl)formimino lower alkyl ether resulting from the action of a lower alkoxide on 2-cyanopyridine is isolated or not isolated and made to react with 2-aminopyridine to form N-(2-pyridyl)-2-pyridinecarboxamidine. Then, the oxidative ring closure of the product is effected to produce 2-(2-pyridyl) [1,2,4] triazolo[1,5-a]pyridine.
EFFECT: The present invention enables the ready formation of amidine, the reaction intermediate, by reactions operated in only one reactor in high yield.
