Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to measure turbidity of a liquid without sampling the sample water and also, requiring no piping, by constituting one side end faces of a pair of optical are oppositely arranged to a gap. CONSTITUTION:The gap 23 is formed by the end faces of one side of the optical fibers 21, 22 oppositely facing each other and said fibers 21, 22 arranged in the original water 2 are connected with the other ends to the luminous light part 31 and photodetecting part 32. Light from the part 31 comes through the fiber 21 to pass through the gap 23 and is reached the part 32 transmitting through the fiber 22. The light is dispersed relating a degree of tubidity of said water 2 at the time of passing through the gap 23 and intensity of the light emitting in the fiber 22 is varied. Accordingly, the tubidity of the water 2 is measured from the variation of the light intensity reached the part 31.
