Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce gas leakage and improve the sealing properties by a method wherein the end of a side sealing material is inserted into a notch groove at the end of a top sealing material of the vane, and the end of top sealing material and the side sealing material are made to overlap at the top of the side face of the vane. CONSTITUTION:A notch groove 18 is provided in a range from the base up to the neighbourhood of the top surface 12, by making it open to the side face 19, at the end 17 of the top seal 11, which is inserted into the end groove 9 in the longitudinal direction of the outer end circumference 22 of the base plate 8 of the vane 7, holding a plate spring 10 between. And the end 20 of the side sealing material 15 is inserted in this notch groove 18, and the end of the top sealing material 11 and that of the side sealing material 15 are made to overlap at near the top of the vane 7. Thereby the end 20 of the overlapped side sealing material 15 prevents the gas leakage between the cylinder side wall surface and itself excepting a range of quite small dimension B from top of the sealing material 21 to the end surface 12 thus largely improving the sealing effect of the vane top.
