Abstract
PURPOSE: To ensure reliability of operation of a hydraulic rocker bracket, by disposing a hydraulic adjustor mechanism on the side of fixed rocker bracket, disposing its plunger and check valve also on the fixed side, using the top end of cylinder as center pivot, and thereby restricting increase in inertia force of the mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: Hydraulic adjustor 2c consists of a hollow plunger 18 threaded with arm-like upper cover 2b at its threaded portion 17 and having a sliding portion at its lower half and a cylinder 19 fitted on the outsie of said sliding portion of hollow plunger 18 in freely slidable manner and shaped at its bottom end in a convex spherical form for engagement with mating concave spherical bottom 4c of recess 4 formed centrally of rocker arm 4. At the bottom of plunger 18, there is formed an oil supply port 25 communicated from the central portion at the bottom of low- pressure oil chamber 23 to high-pressure oil chamber 24 defined by the bottom of plunger 18 and inner wall of cylinder 19. Further, a check valve means is provided at the bottom of plunger 18.
