Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise sulfur resistance by using tungsten carbide.
CONSTITUTION: The sulfur-resistant catalyst, or tungsten carbide (WC or W2C) catalyst, can be obtained by heating tungsten oxide at a high temperature for a fixed hour in the current of CO. The catalyst is preferably used in the synthesis of methane using a synthesis gas containing 200ppm or less of sulfur.
