Abstract
PURPOSE: To use steam produced by combustion efficiently, by shaping thin metal strips into a cylindrical form by combining them in a double-spiral structure, and supporting the opposite end portions respectively by a grooved end plate.
CONSTITUTION: Combustion gas is introduced into chamber A via exhaust pipe 4 and discharged into the atmosphere from outlet port 8, after passing through exhaust-gas inlet port 6 of heat exchanger 5 and spiral passage 7. On the other hand, open air introduced from air inlet port 9 is passed through spiral passage 10, heated while absorbing heat from exhaust-gas through heat transfer plate 11, and then introduced into chamber B via air outlet port 12. Further, hot air is pressurized by fan 13 and supplied into the room via chamber C and a portion of the air is supplied to combustor to be used for combustion. When combustion gas passes through spiral passage 7, it is cooled through heat exchanging with a large amount of inlet air. On the other hand, steam thus produced is condensed and sent to humidifier of the heater via drain pipe.
