Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the low-voltage drive of an ink-jet head possible by controlling voltages applied to piezoelectric elements, by applying out-of-phase voltage pulses to electrodes, sandwiching piezoelectric elements, during applicaton.
CONSTITUTION: Voltage 13 is applied to common electrode 16, to drive circuit 14 supplied with input signal 15, and also to opposite electrodes 17W21, and input signals 27W31 are inputted. Then, drivers 22W26 are also connected. Common electrode 16 at this time is applied with a common electrode signal of voltage V0, and oppostie electrodes 17W21 are applied with control signals of voltage V0. The composite waveform of the common electrode signal and control signal is 180° out of phase with a common electrode signal when the control signal is applied to cause a voltage change of ±V0. In this way, V0 is further applied with -V0 to cause a voltage change of 2V0 and a head jetting ink at V0, for example, requires a half voltage for its driver circuit.
