Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the operation of an air conditioner appropriate to room temperature for removing humidity by a method wherein a single thermostat is used to detect the room temperature and control the operation of a compressor for cooling; and control the airflow volume of an outdoor fan for removing hymidity.
CONSTITUTION: Change-over switches 27, 54 are closed at contact points 271, 541 each on an air cooling side when room temperature is high, for instance, in summer time. If then an operating switch 17 is closed, an air cooling cycle is formed to operate an indoor fan and an outdoor fan, and an air cooling mechanism is operated. When, for instance, in the rainy season, room temperature is relatively low with high humidity, the change-over switches 27, 54 are closed at contact points 272, 542 on a humidity removing side. If then an operating switch 17 is closed, a humidity removing cycle is formed to operate the outdoor fan, and a humidity removing mechanism is operated, producing rather cooled air. A transistor 41 in a semiconductor thermo-circuit 28 becomes off when it is chilly, the operation of the outdoor fan is suspended, while the removal of humidity is carried out.
