Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent dust from generating through coke oven uprise pipe by a mechanism wherein a joint pipe is extended from the end of horizontal conduit connected with centralized dust collection pipe, and the extended end of the joint pipe is mounted at about the upper section of the top opening of the coke oven uprize pipe.

CONSTITUTION: When coal is charged into the coke oven 1, powdered dust generated around the coal inlet 3 is guided through the dust collection pipe 5, horizontal conduit 6, joint pipe 7, joint fixture 9, and to centralized dust collection pipe 8. A tilted and/or horizontal pipe 10 is extended from the end of the conduit 6 toward the oven group 1 in a definite length. From the end 11 of extended pipe 10, a reverse U pipe 12 is extended, and the end opening 14 of the pipe 12 is mounted at about the top of the top opening 16 of the coke oven uprise pipe 15. Then, at the end 14 of down pipe 13 of the pipe 12, vertically movable mechanism is attached so that it comes to the position about the top of the opening 16 and slightly separated from the opening 16. Then, reversibly operating dampers 18, 17 are provided to the pipes 5 and 10.
