Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish early detection of sodium leakage by means of a leakage d etection conductor insulated with an oxide installed between the machine piping and the lagging material provided on the circumference thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A piping 1 is wound on the outer surface with a stainless tape 2 and insulated with lagging materials 5a and 5b separated into two sections, upper and lower. The lower lagging material 5b has several slits cut lengthwise in such a manner as to house a sodium leakage detecting conductor 4 insulated with an oxide including magnetic oxide, beryllium oxide and aluminium oxide. If sodium is leaked through the piping 1, it reacts the insulator such as magnetia oxide and the conductor is exposed and gets in contact with the piping 1 thereby burning out the fuse 7. This enables eary detection of sodium leakage, if any.
