Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the stroke of standard hydraulic cylinders adjustable by screwing on the piston rod extending outside of a cylinder a stopper which contacts the outer end of the cylinder when the piston rod is retracted.
CONSTITUTION: A nut-formed stopper piece 5 is slidably screwed on a piston rod 3 engaging with a thread 4 formed on a piston rod 3 extending from a cylinder 1. The piston rod 3 is then allowed to stroke from the outermost position to the position where the stopper piece 5 contacts the flange 2 of the cylinder 1 for a distance (a). The stroke of the piston rod 3 is optionally selected by selectively determining the length of the stopper piece 5 and suitably adjusting the position of the stopper piece 5.
