Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover carbonized materials free from decomposition gases with non- condensible gases, as combustible useful ones, by decomposing wastes consisting mainly of roganic substances in the atmosphere filled with steam substantially in the absence of air.
CONSTITUTION: The closed vessel 2 containing organic wastes is placed in the oven 1, and heated indirectly with the burner 3. At a temperature of 450W850°C, water is fed from the conduit 4 and changed into steam, which fills the vessel 2 to provide a substantially air less state. The wastes are thus decomposed into pure carbonaceous materials almost free from decomposition gases. The gases and steam are taken in by the exhauster 5, and steam and water soluble-gases are collected by cooling water in the scrubber 8. The cleaned gases are cooled by the cooler 15 to recover non-condensible gases into the tank 18.
