Abstract

PURPOSE: The title composition capable of forming adhesive layers having water and heat resistance, usable for vulcanization bonding of ethylene-propylene-nonconjugated diene terpolymer to stainless steel, obtained by incorporating a silane compound having an epoxy group into chlorinated rubber.
CONSTITUTION: A primer composition comprising (A) 100pts.wt. of a chlorinated rubber, (B) 0.5W10pts.wt. of a silane compound having an epoxy group, e.g. r-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane. The ingredient (B) may be a mixture of two or more types, and an inorganic filler, e.g. titanium oxide, may be used in the composition. The product may be used as a solution or suspension in an organic solvent, e.g. an aromatic or chlorinated hydrocarbon or ketone.
USE: For exterior window glass of automobiles.
