Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the scatter in the quality and performance of a pneumatic tire and increase the rigidity of the central part of the tire, by providing folded parts at different angles of 5 to 30° as to the circumferential direction of the tire.
CONSTITUTION: A cord piece of large width is obliquely cut off at an angle of 5 to 30° to small pieces. Both the end portions of each small piece are folded on the central portion like S. The width w of the folded end portion is related to that W of a belt as 3/4W<w<W. A single folded section S shaped like an isosceles angle and a double folded section D, whose central part is overlapped with the single folded section, are provided on one end portion of the folded piece and continue to a triple S-folded section T. A single folded section S and a double folded section D are provided on the obverse and reverse sides of the other end portion. Therefore, each section can be uniformly S-folded only by overlapping both the end portions with each other.
