Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the measurement accuracy of electric power, by receiving a number of pulses corresponding to the power and by measuring the interval between the pulses.
CONSTITUTION: A number of pulses, which are generated by a wattmeter 1 and correspond to electric power, are applied to an inverter 3 so that the pulses are inverted. The inversion output of the inverter and clock pulses of prescribed frequency from a clock pulse oscillator 4 are applied to an AND gate 5. Since the AND gate operates with positive logic, the clock pulses pass through the gate only while the output of the inverter 3 is at a high level. The clock pulses are counted by a counter 2 to measure the quantity of the electric power. Since the output pulses of the wattmeter 1 are not directly counted but the intervals between the pulses are counted by the clock pulses of prescribed frequency, measurement of accuracy which is scores of times higher than that of measurement by the former pulses can be effected.
