Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a miniature and lightweight infinite phase shifter by one hybrid without using a variable attenuator. CONSTITUTION:A signal of Asinomegat is inputted to input terminal, branched by hybrid 20 and then outputted to terminals 21 and 22. An output signal from terminal 22 is phase-shifted 23 by pi/4 and control signal sintheta from terminal 15 is added by diode 7 and amplitude-modulated to input 22 a signal of A/2<1/2>Xsin(omegat+pi/2) sintheta via phase shifter 23 again. An output signal from terminal 21, on the other hand, is amplitude-modulated by diode 6 by using control signal costheta from terminal 14 to input 21 A/2<1/2>XsinomegatXcosomegat. Then, they are mixed by hybrid 20 to output 13 A/2Xsin(omegat+theta). Namely, control signals from terminals 14 and 15 are given a sine wave function with a phase difference of pi/2, so that a signal can be obtained which is phase-shifted in accordance with the phase of the control function.
