Abstract
PURPOSE: To stabilize the operation of an inverter and make the operation high- efficiency as the whole by inserting a false load in parallel to a load for a light load and separating the false load for a prescribed load state.
CONSTITUTION: Current transformers 1 and 2, comparator 4, relay 5 and false load resistance 6 are added to a parallel resonance-type high-frequency inverter constituted by SCR 7W12 and 16W19, reactors 13 and 14, capacitor 15 and a tank circuit, and the output of the inverter is supplied to rectifier 22 for electron beam irradiation unit. For a light load, relay 5 is made non-operated, and resistance 6 is inserted in parallel to the load, thus preventing the operation of the inverter from being unstable. When the load current becomes a prescribed level, relay 5 is activated comparator 4, and resistance 6 is separated from the output of the inverter. A proper hysteresis characteristic is given to comparator 4 to prevent hunting of the relay contact dependent upon reduction of the load current caused by separation of the load.
