Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve efficiency for atomization by using an electrostriction vibrator with values wherein the product Kt.σ of a thickness vibration coupling coefficient Kt by Poisson's ratio is 0.153 or more.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided a main electrode 5 over one surface of an electric strain vibrator element 1 formed of piezoelectric material while over the other surface are provided concentrically a circular partial electrode 6 and a ringed electrode 7 at a gap required from the electrode 6. If the partial electrode 6 and the ringed 7 are put on the same potential, a high voltage is applied between the main electrode 5 and each of them and the internal part of the electric strain vibrator element 1 is polarized in a thickness direction, the whole body is polarized uniformly in a thickness direction as shown by arrows 8 and an electric strain vibrator 10 is obtained. In this case the product Kt.σ of a thickness vibration coupling coefficient Kt by Possion's ratio σ is specified to 0.153 or more especially to 0.47 or more. In this way efficiency for atomization can be improved.
