Abstract

PURPOSE: Degummed silk is dissolved in an aqueous alkaline earth metal salt and the solution is dialyzed to give a fibroin solution of a specific concentration, in which an enzyme is dissolved and the solution is made into films, thus giving said enzyme- containing films with high enzyme activity, durability and strength.
CONSTITUTION: In (A) an aqueous solution containing 5W80, preferably 40W 60wt% of an alkaline earth metal salt, preferably calcium chloride or calcium nitrate, is dessolved (B) degummed silk and the solution is dialyzed to form an aqueous fibroin solution of 0.2W20, preferably 3W15wt% fibroin concentration. Then, (C) an enzyme as α-and β-amylase, is added and dissolved homogeneously and made into films. The film compositon is 0.2W20 enzyme/ 99.8W80 fibroin, preferably 1W10/99W90 by wt. and the water content is 30W100%.
