Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture an oscillator with its constitution simplified, by composing this unit of split waveguides divided into two by a perpendicular flat plate including the center line of a rectangular waveguide, plane conductor plate equipped with a slot of fixed length, and solid-state oscillating element. CONSTITUTION:Plane circuit conductor plate 12 sandwiched between channel- shaped split waveguides 10 and 11 is provided with thin and long slot 13 of about 3/4lambda (lambda; wavelength). Solid-state oscillating element 14 is equipped lambda/2 away from load-side end part A of slot 3, and slot 13 operates as a resonance circuit. The coupling degree between slot 13 and output waveguide 21 can be adjusted in accordance with distance (l1) between terminal A of slot 13 and terminal C of conductor plate 12 and distance (l2) between the other terminal B of the slot and conductor plate 12 is selected long enough to attenuate sufficiently evanescent wave of the oscillation circuit leaking to terminal D by way of waveguides 15 and 16 in a cut-off region. At a position lambda/4 away from element 14, screw 17 is provided adjoining to the slot to adjust an oscillation frequency. Then, the heat sink side of element 14 is soldered to conductor plate 12 to simplify its manufacture.
