Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a sliding component having excellent strength and lubricity, and extremely low frictional resistance when used in combination with Al or an Al-alloy, and composed of a polyphenylene sulfide resin containing a specific amount of carbon fiber.
CONSTITUTION: A sliding component is obtained by molding a composition composed of (A) a polyphenylene sulfide resin, (B) 10W50 wt% of carbon fibers as a filler, and (C) 2W20 wt% of a solid lubricant such as graphite, molybdenum disulfide, tetrafluoroethylene resin powder, etc. The sliding component exhibits excellent sliding characteristics when used in combination with a soft, non-ferrous metallic component such as an Al-alloy, e.g. an oil seal ring.
