Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the title fibrous compound, easily, by contacting a specific Zr-containing phosphoric acid compound with a fibrous material in a solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A fibrous Zr-containing phosphoric acid compound can be prepared by contacting a Zr-containing phosphoric acid compound of formula (R is alkyl) obtained, e.g. by reacting a phosphoric acid dialkyl ester having 3W5C alkyl groups with a Zr-oxyhalide in an inert liquid medium, with a fibrous material such as asbestos, polyester fibers, etc. in an organic solvent which dissolves the Zr- containing phosphoric acid compound.
