Abstract
PURPOSE: Title composition that is made by adding larger amounts of filler and softening agent than those added to conventional compositions to a specific rubber of ethylene-α-olefin-polyene random terpolymer, thus keeping practical strength and processability and being inexpensive and suitably used for high electric voltage.
CONSTITUTION: To 100 parts by wt. of ethylene-α-olefin-polyene random terpolymer in which (1) the molar ratio of the ethylene unit to the α-olefin unit is 50:50W95:5, (2) the iodine value is 5W50, (3) the intrinsic viscosity in decaline at 135°C is 1W6 dl/g, (4) Q (weight-average molecular weight/number-average molecular weight) is 3W15, (5) the iodine index α1 of the low molecular weight component satisfies the equation: -30 ≤α1≤0, preferably -10≤α1≤-1 and the iodine index α2 of the high molecular weight component satisfies the equation: 0≤α2≤30, perferably 1≤α2≤10, are added 250 or less parts of filler and 100 or less parts of softening agent, perferably process oil and they are kneaded so that the content of the terpolymer rubber becomes 25wt% or less. The specific volume resistance is preferably 1×1014ohm.cm or higher.
