CONSTITUTION: As an Al alloy for a galvanic anode used in cathodic protection an Al alloy of the following compsn. is used: the compsn. contains Zn 0.5W6%, In 0.005W0.05%, Si 0.05W0.15%, one of Y 0.0005W0.20%, La 0.0005W0.05%, Ce 0.0003W0.01%, Sm 0.0005W0.20%, Zr 0.0003W0.05%, Hf 0.0003W0.10%, Ge 0.0005W0.015%, Nb 0.0003W0.01% and Ta 0.0003W0.03%, and Cu≤0.01% out of inevitable impurities. since this Al alloy dissolves very smoothly and shows high current efficiency, it has a long endurance year life and exhibits a stable protection function over a long term.
