Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure the convenience for both the manufacture and the maintenance of the display unit by turning the switching element nonconductive and thus keeping the screen at the desired light emission level in case no synchronous pulse exists.
CONSTITUTION: No synchronous signal is applied to terminal 6 when no video input signal exists at terminal 1, and thus transistor 11 does not conduct. Under these conditions, the voltage is applied from DC voltage application terminal 12, and capacitor 3 is charged up to the fixed voltage level via resistances 13 and 14. If this application voltage is set a little higher than the pedestal level, the display screen has a weak light emission. And thus an accurate active state of the display unit can be identified visually.
